ugh

Fear of Poe drags peso to all-time low; stocks fall. THE PRESIDENTIAL bid of popular actor Fernando Poe Jr. spooked Philippine financial markets Thursday, pulling the peso down to an all-time low of 55.85 to the dollar and pulling share prices down by nearly two percent. He wants to run for President of the Philippines to save our country. Grr, can’t he see what’s happening? This is not the movies. It’s reality. If you run, the country will go to the dogs.

Jason is legal today

Happy birthday Jason. My plan was to surprise him by calling up their day phone number. Big mistake. His dad picked it up and sounded quite irritated and said “it’s quite early". I can’t blame him. Well , who wouldn’t be irritated at 6:30 am? The thing was it was almost my bedtime and my first class is at 7:30 am. If I call the following day, Jason would have left for their Thanksgiving celebration. I should have used his night phone number but usually when I ring that number, Jason will just let it ring and then call me back. Oh well, at least his dad still gave the phone so we were able to talk . :birthday: Jason is finally legal today.

amazon’s new search engine

Wow I’m loving amazon.com new search engine, “Search Inside the book”. It’s like “google” your books. So neat. I was looking for sources for my 2 research topics and found this search feature quite handy. Every page of the 120,000 in-print titles has been scanned into a vast computer database and can be accessed as text. There are limits I think. A great reference for writers and journalists.

home sweet home

I’m home simply because the utilities company cut off the power from my dorm . One of my roomies forgot to pay. It will take a day or two to get it back . Imagine sleeping without an airconditioner? Even if we open the windows, we’ll be exposed to polluted air. Home sweet home .
