We have one month to go …finals is on the first week of March and then classes will be over. YAY! Sure , we’ll still be going to school for graduation rehearsals but then the high school stress will be over. What a relief! Tomorrow we’ll have our yearbook photos taken at school complete with white toga and cap. And that reminds me, tomorrow is the Daily Grind. Hmm, I only have 12 shots in my camera. But YOU better join us!
I dislike current events in all its form because they are a surefire way to get me depressed. Nothing good is ever in the news-just a whole lot of scandals about stupid humans who screw up their lives and the lives of millions of others. [read more?]
Answer: Read Lele’s LiveJournal entry.
I hope Lele gets a backup of all of those posts! 2 years of posts!
From Newsweek, January 27 ,2003 Asia Edition:
Called third culture-kids - or TCK’s - these children of diplomats, aid workers, missionaries, military personnel, journalists, academics and business executives are being raised in a culture that lies somewhere between their parents’ native one (first culture) and that of the country where they are based (the second culture)
My kids will be TCK’S if I intend to pursue my dream of being a diplomat or an expat. And if I marry someone outside my ethnicity, would that be a third culture for my future kids (?). If people ask where they come from, they’d say “I ‘m from the world” . Cool, huh?
It’s so embarassing how my school doesn’t even have an email address but has a website ,and a computer lab with a crappy internet connection. See, my report card won’t be released till February 7th so I had to inform the college I was applying to in New York that my mid-term grades will be delayed. (Mid-year grades are required for this liberal arts college and deadline is February 1) Fortunately, the Coordinator of International Students said it was alright and that grades could be emailed as soon as it was available. While I was panicking over that, the school principal ordered (wow!!) all my teachers to release my grades today so my official transcript will be mailed tomorrow. Well, for once I felt they treated me with importance. Technically, my mid-year report is not late. Phew!
Ever since I watched The Ring , my bedside lamp has been turned on all night. The movie wasn’t that scary but it was just soo eerie. They say the Ringu, the Japanese version is even spookier. Wow, I didn’t know it had factual basis. I’ll be watching it this Friday! It’s still showing at Glorietta 1.
But my biggest fear is this: what if college really is just high school with beer? [read more?]
Grr. I was trying to log in at AIM but I forgot my password. Normally I’d use trillian but it’s being a bitch. When I requested for a password, it says “We are currently unable to process your password request. You have requested the service too often within a 24 hour period. Please try again in 24 hours.” Is someone trying to get my password? I hope not!
I spent a good part of the afternoon brooding about the imminence of war and maybe even the end of the world. I find it so annoying how just when I’m finally done with worrying over college, I’ve got this more serious problem to worry about. (See, that’s why I hate current events.)[read more?]
