Australian and Canadian Embassies closed

Terror grips 2 embassies. What the heck?

Australia and Canada cited “explicit” and “credible” threats of attacks in explaining why they closed their embassies in Makati Thursday, “for an indefinite period of time” in Canada’s case. The European Commission, in the same building as the Australian embassy, appeared to have closed its office as well.

And this report even mentions that the advisory of Australia said there is civil disorder in the Philippines. There is none. The report was very inaccurate. I am disputing the credibility of that intelligence report. . . .

My dad told me some stuff but I don’t think I should post it here cos the papers aren’t talking about it. Next thing you know, the US embassy will close. Why won’t I be surprised?

fucking hell. this is what terrorists want, to instil fear and TERROR into the general populace of this place. Hence their names. I\’m sure the embassy had a better reason than what you heard.

what i heard was acccurate… in fact i read it in another paper. My dad actually has an Aussie friend who has office in the same building as the Australian embassy. He even got interviewed by CNN.

anyway, the australian embassy did not follow proper diplomatic procedures. read this
.. NO formal protests are planned against Canada and Australia over the closure of their embassies in Manila and the release of “inaccurate” travel advisories despite violations in diplomatic procedure, National Security Adviser Roilo Golez said on Friday.

they probably acted in haste/emergency and had no time to inform the Philippine government. Remember Bali?
